Fida’s New Website Aims to Strengthen the Organisation’s Capacity for Aid and Missionary Work

Fida is a Finnish missionary and development cooperation organisation with one of Finland’s largest secondhand chains. Fida operates in 50 countries, working alongside local churches and organisations. In Finland, Fida is known for its 22-store Fida Secondhand chain, which supports the organisation’s international operations through the sale of used clothes and goods. We designed and implemented Fida’s new online service, which connects both global and local operations.



The main objectives of Fida’s website are to promote the business operations of the Fida Secondhand chain and increase donations related to aid work. Additionally, the website serves as the organisation’s primary channel for marketing communication and information sharing.



What we did
One website from two
As part of the redesign, the content related to both the Secondhand business and global aid work was integrated into a single fida.fi website. This comprehensive WordPress-based service now includes, among other things:
- Custom one-time and monthly donation functions
- Store locator and map
- “Where we work” map functionality
- Numerous custom content types
- Dozens of versatile content blocks
- Payment gateway and Salesforce integrations

StrategyAt the start of the project, strategic planning was carried out both in terms of merging different areas of business and in the structural planning of the content.
Service DesignWe helped the client explore which solutions were needed to best achieve the goals set for the service.
DesignWe designed the website’s user interface to convey the atmosphere and messages of the client’s refreshed brand identity in the best possible way.
DevelopmentThe online service was built using the WordPress content management system. It features a rich, versatile and user-friendly set of content management tools, including numerous custom content types and content blocks. In addition, donation functionalities were developed and integrated with the client’s CRM, Salesforce, and payment gateways.
Data & analyticsWe designed an analytics solution that supports both the client and our team in analysing how the service performs. The service and its content are continuously developed based on data insights.
CareOur collaboration continues through the ongoing maintenance and development of the service.
